Family-First Initiative

The Family First Initiative is at the core of all IFF’s programmes and interventions, to defend family values right from the beginning. This initiative has a dual approach.

The first approach recognizes that apart from natural causes, the Family is mostly affected by Government policies and decisions. Therefore, a major focus of IFF is to be proactive in monitoring government policies to ensure conformity with democratic values and to act as advocates for good governance. Through the Family First Initiative, the IFF shall lend its voice to promote the agenda and cause of struggling families in developmental policies of governments at all levels and to create equal access to opportunities, devoid of any form of discrimination, in order to eradicate the spread of endemic poverty in our communities.

The second approach is focused on providing resources, through recreational events, seminars, counselling and outreach programmes, that promote a “Family First” mentality and philosophy in our communities and to encourage everyone to assign their families the highest priority.

Indeed, it is only when we have achieved the desired harmony within our individual families, that we can truly begin to appreciate the fact that 

“Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones that would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what, who are willing to hold your hand when you need it.” 

Then we can truly Build Stronger Communities through Stronger Families!
